Ways to Romanticize School

I’m a senior this year, and I have a pretty strong GPA in my class. I feel like school is stressful for most teenagers, and I’ve spent my high school career perfecting the ways to make it feel a little easier. I’m happy to share with you all my favorite ways to romanticize school.

Wearing cute clothes

I know this sounds dumb, but dressing for success really works. Even if you live in a hoodie and sweatpants (like me), there are ways to make it look dressier when you take tests or have a study sesh. If I look good, I feel more productive. You all are already good-looking, so you got that down! Putting effort into the way we dress, though, allows us to feel better about ourselves and helps us do better in school because of it.

Make your school supplies aesthetic

This one is important. Once I buy my school supplies for the year, I love to decorate everything. This is because it urges me to use them more. This goes for your computer too – Change that background and download organization apps or software. Purchasing cute highlighters or pens will also motivate you to take better notes, which in most cases means the information you retain and jot down is more thorough!

Find your study spot

Mmmmm, Coffee! Having a study spot is the best part of studying. It could be at the library, a Starbucks or other coffee shop, or maybe a cozy nook at home! Whatever it is, a study spot will help you focus on studying for your tests or doing your homework. This is a key to being in your “no-distraction” zone! Try to differentiate your study spot from your room. It’s proven that studying or doing school work in the same place you chill and sleep makes it more challenging for us to learn.

Pinterest “dream board”

How many times am I going to say “Pinterest” in these blogs? I love Pinterest for so many reasons, but it can also contribute to doing well in school. I have a board I use for motivation. It includes quotes, pictures of study spots, and cute school supplies. It’s like everything I’ve listed before in one spot and inspires me to implement it into my own reality.

Fictional characters

This one is funny. I take study inspiration from characters like Rory Gilmore or Lara Jean. If they can find enjoyment in studying and doing their school-work, so can I. In that way, I look up to them and take motivation from watching the movies and shows they star in.

Finding your study music

Sometimes, music distracts me from studying. If you can relate, then I recommend doing what’s best for you and unplugging your headphones. However, I love good background music when I feel like it. Spotify puts out wonderful study playlists, and they personalize it to your taste.
